Obituary

Linda Roberts was born on February 29th, 1956 in Lewiston, Idaho to Lawrence R. Stevenson and Betty Jean (Bars) Stevenson. She graduated high school in Lewiston, Idaho, then went to nursing school at the University of Montana / Missoula Technical College. Linda also received her real estate license and participated in continuing education. December 31st, 2004 Linda and Darrell Roberts were married in Kauai, Hawaii. Linda held many jobs before she retired. She was a Real Estate Broker / Property Management in the Bitterroot Valley, Montana and Lewiston, Idaho (20+ years) and in-home caregiver for her mother (3+ years).

Linda will be remembered as a caring wife, mother, and grandma that enjoyed hosting holiday dinners and summer BBQs for those close to her and where her homemade canned jams and pickles were always enjoyed, and the annual Christmas sugar cookies were always worth the wait, according to Brandon. The precious younger sister of Carol and Gloria, Linda was subject to a lot of family jokes that she always took in stride, and she will be dearly missed by her sisters.

She was always very proud of her family, whether it was the wood working projects and craftmanship that she displayed of Darrell’s, the accomplishments her grandson, Brandon, had in tennis and his school success, or her son, Jason’s Marine Corps service and loved hearing about his travel adventures with his wife, Linda. Whenever there was an opportunity, she always loved sharing these moments and you could see the joy they brought her.

Her love of family was evident in the kindness and compassion she exhibited in lovingly caring for her mother for over three years and faithfully visiting her once she moved to a nursing home including a celebration of her 90th birthday.

Never one for large crowds, from a young child, Linda enjoyed being out in nature whether it was camping at Buffalo Hump, hunting and fishing with family and friends, or picking Huckleberries. As an adult, she also became an avid gardener and liked gathering Morels as well as walking on the beach with her dogs and family while looking for seashells; those were some of the things that made her happy.

Over the years she lived in Idaho, Montana, and Oregon; finally getting to live by the ocean she loved starting in 2017. As a child she went on memorable family trips to Disneyland and the Grand Canyon, as well as annual trips to Kintla Lake and later in life was able to take trips camping to Lake Chelan and Sequoia National Park as well as to San Francisco and San Diego to visit her son and to Hawaii where Darrell and Linda were married in 2004.
