The Gordon family is deeply saddened to announce the death of Lawrence Craig Gordon, age 51, on Saturday, February 13th, 2010 near Yachats, OR. Craig was the beloved and devoted father of two sons: Nicholas Zachary Gordon and Zach's wife, Jennifer Hughes-Gordon of Reston, VA and Andrew L. Gordon of Salem, OR. He was also the cherished and beloved son of Virginia and Thomas Gordon of Micanopy, FL. Craig is also mourned by four loving brothers and one sister: Thomas L. Gordon of Portland; Douglas B. Gordon and Stuart K. Gordon of Micanopy, FL, Laura V. Gordon-Ward and her husband Tim Ward of Marietta, GA, and Alexander G. Gordon and wife Heather Isaacson Gordon of Newberry, FL. In addition, he is survived by several nephews and nieces: Matthew, Zachary, Connor, Bryce, Chandra, and Monica Gordon, as well as four uncles and numerous close friends.
Craig was born in Japan into a military family. During his youth he lived in Taiwan, Alaska, Washington, Wisconsin and Georgia before moving to Oregon in 1979. Craig recently retired after 31 years with Verizon. He loved fishing, camping and golfing and was looking forward to spending even more pleasurable hours in Oregon's beautiful outdoors as a retired person. We know he is now in an even better place. He will live on in the hearts and memories of those who loved him.
Friends may come to visitation from 9:00AM to 11:00AM at the Bateman Funeral Home in Newport, Oregon. Service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, February 20, 2010 to celebrate Larrence "Craig" Gordon’s life. |
