| E. Louisa Osborn, age 81 of Newport, OR, passed away at her home on October 21, 2009 in Newport, OR. She was born Aug 11, 1928 in Renton, WA to Thomas W. Kelly and Edith Marie (Dunham) Kelly. Louisa spent 2 years at San Jose State University, and later attended Barret Business School in Salem, OR where she studied to become a professional secretary. During WWII she was the assistant for the Admirals office in Mare Island. Louisa’s career began with work at Pacific Bell Telephone and Burt Realty. She was a volunteer as a “Pink Lady” at a hospital now known as Columbia Memorial Hospital of Astoria, was the secretary to state, county, and federal Departments of Agriculture, and served as a medical clerk for the Department of State Human Resources in Newport. Louisa loved collecting Shirley Temple dolls and dolls of all sorts. She enjoyed reading, beachcombing and collecting agates. She also enjoyed time in her garden, and was especially fond of African Violates and sweet peas. She was a member of the Eastern Star in Astoria and was a member of The League of Women Voters. On January 12, 1951, Louisa married E. Thomas Osborn in Salem, OR, a loving marriage that endured until her death. Louisa was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Gerald D. Kelly. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years E. Thomas Osborn of Newport, OR; son, Mark Thomas Osborn of Beaverton, OR.; daughter, Jeannine Lynn O’Neal of San Jose, CA. and grandsons Daniel and Christopher Osborn. |
