| Doris Etta Kasper was born on April 18, 1924 in Eugene, OR and passed away on September 24, 2009 at the age of 85. She was born to Gertrude Brown Durham and G.L. “Roy” Durham. She married Earl L. Kasper on December 19, 1941; He preceded her in death on March 22, 2000. The union of their marriage gave birth to their son Michael E. Kasper who preceded her in death on July 17, 1998. Her grandson, Johnny Kasper also preceded her in death on January 23, 2005. She is survived by her grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Mike & Jeanette, and grandsons, Don and Jim. Six great-grandchildren, Clint, Cody, Ashley, Kayla, Donnie, and Kenny; and her niece, Sue Fowler also survives her. Doris was a homemaker most of her life and worked as a welder in the ship yards during WWII. She enjoyed crafting, especially crocheting. Doris moved to Newport in 1944 where she remained for the rest of her life. She loved going hunting in eastern Oregon for deer and elk with her family. A favorite pastime of hers was to play Scrabble and Bingo with her friends at Ocean View. She was especially fond of the days when she could ride her Harley on the beach. She was a member of the #2105 Elkettes (BPOE), Fraternal Order of Eagles (FOE), #2817, Auxiliary PCHD, and auxiliary volunteer at SPCH. She is the last of a family of 8 (mother, father, 3 brothers, 2 sisters). Funeral services will be announced at a later date. |
