| Ralph Waldo Cowen, was born March 28, 1938 in Portland, Oregon, and passed away on September 7, 2009 at the age of 71 at his home in Waldport, Oregon. Ralph was proprietor of Ralph’s Outboard Motor Mechanic company in Waldport and served six years with the Seal Rock Water District, having served one year as Chairman. He also was a member of the Industrial Steel Metal Workers Union. A devout member of the Waldport Four Square Church, he served the church as a council member for many years. Ralph married Marcella LaVerne Lyster on July 22, 1978 in Portland, OR, to whom he remained married until his passing. Ralph was a photography enthusiast and loved to hunt and fish. He is survived by his wife, Marcella LaVerne Cowen of Waldport, OR; daughter Merri Jo Nyberg of Florida; son Loren Dale Cowen of Reno, Nevada; five grandchildren, Nikki, Kristi, Ali, Elizabeth, and Charlie; three great-grandchildren, Molli, Samantha, and Ambrea; and his sister, Marilyn Carrigan of Eden Prairie, Minnesota. A graveside committal service will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2009 at 2:00PM. A memorial service will be held later at a later date at the Waldport Foursquare Church.
